A Custom Painting.
My brother and sister-in-law were looking for a new painting to fit in a frame that they already had. We came up with a color scheme and basic layout the would match their dining room both in color and style. I painted a sample for them on paper and got a warm approval.
The frame turned out to be a custom size and difficult to find a canvas that would fit. So I took the current art in the frame, a vintage Japanese batik mounted on wood, and I turned it over. I removed a label from the back, treated the wood with watercolor ground and then I had a textured canvas to paint on. This is the result.
