Bus Art
FINDING THE
Whimsical Within.
Once upon a time I had walls around me that I covered with canvas’. Now there are no blank walls around me, so I have improvised and painted where I can. I have turned the bus into a whimsical forest with paintings of plants, and real plants. So much for my original idea of making everything mostly white!
I have attempted to make the art and wood stain match, or at least blend in nicely with the textiles. Then I added a pop of color or mushrooms for fun.
It was my delight to scatter mushrooms all over the cabinetry, using dimensional ground and watercolor paint. These literally grow off the wood.
My last big painting project was to paint the giant drawers under my bed. I painted the right one first with my impression of Upper Klamath Lake full of wocus lilies and damselflies. The right drawer is an abstract landscape of the Mt. Hood wilderness, which is also located in Oregon. Both are joined by ferns, one of my favorite plants in the Pacific Northwest.
